First thing first upgrade all of your mines and elixir collectors to the maximum possible level and without upgrading them do not even think about upgrading anything else.At first you should not worry about trophies or clan just focus on laying a good strong foundation which will help you alot in future.Many players when start the game they just rush their town halls to maximum level in order to unlock new troops but when they rush it then they do not have a standard base with strong offence and defence and then these players struggle alot.After upgrading collectors and mines you should start upgrading your barracks and army camps.When you have successfully upgraded army camps and Barracks you should start upgrading your defence buildings like Archer towers and mortars etc then there comes a stage where you have to upgrade walls keep in mind that walls play a vital role in holding the enemies troops away from the base and many times players win defence by placing and upgrading walls intelligently.
